Visa Europe Collab, Visa Europe’s innovation hub, partnered with The Accelerator Network to launch a new fintech competition for advanced-stage start-ups and entrepreneurs. The competition was for ideas for innovative payments products and services, with three innovation categories designed to solve a problem and make the payments process easier for consumers: Digital Me, Data me, and Group Payments.
Last month, six startups with great ideas pitched to a panel of judges in Tel Aviv, as part of Visa Europe Collab and The Accelerator Network’s competition. Finalists included Biowatch SA, Ukkobox, Sentrycs, Flendr, PayBox and Trunomi. They were competing for a chance to work with Visa Europe Collab on a Proof of Concept, and enjoy full access to our partner network to support its development. The competition was strong but the winners of the Visa Europe Collab Startup Competition is Trunomi!
“Going into this competition, all applicants had one goal in mind: to solve a problem,” said Ian Merricks, Chair at the Accelerator Network. “The challenge for each finalist was communicating their ideas effectively. On paper, some of the judges may have seen some potential winners, but the live competitive pitch was the element that would ultimately decide the winner.”
